Pancakes - are they really cakes?!

A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, and round, prepared from a starch-based batter that may also contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often with oil or butter (Wikipedia). So if your definition of cake involved eggs and flour, I guess so.

In any case, the For Heaven's Cakes kitchen will always make time for these thin little pretenders to the baking throne as the kids go nuts for them. Always savoury first (this year pancetta, leek, sweetcorn and cheese) followed by the age-old favourite lemon and sugar. You can't beat it! How do you take yours?!
