Trying something new
When there is time, I do like to experiment so when a picture of the Cadbury's Creme Egg scotch egg popped up in my Facebook feed, I knew what my next project would be! Here's my version (Sorry Omm Nomm, I didn't follow your recipe - I like to wing it with my own cake pop mix and used minis not full size eggs). Despite 4 years at uni in Scotland, I have never tried a deep fried mars bar but if this little confectionery in cake batter works, I'm prepared to give it a go now

Time flies when you're having fun!
For Heaven's Cakes has been around for 10 years now and in a lot of ways, it feels like yesterday. I love what I do - it's more of a hobby than anything but when you are passionate about something, I think (or rather hope) it shows. I've lost count of all the cakes I've created for people but am grateful for every one that has helped me grow as a cake artist and for the trust they've put in me to make something special to help them celebrate an occasion. So thank you! And

Special delivery!
It's always a busy week in the For Heaven's Cakes kitchen in the run up to Valentine's Day. Being a sentimental fool myself, it gives me an excuse to shower my beloved with baked goods and you wont hear him complaining, especially as he's receiving an individual fruit cake and some unique cupcakes this year. If you've missed out this year, stick a note in your diary and give me a call in 2017 - I'll happily provide cupids cakes for your one true love. #love

The Metro attempts to kill woman, 27, with cake!
A story in the Metro this week has left me be/amused, about a woman from Yorkshire with a crippling fear of cake. WHAT???!!!! Is it the 1st April?! Clearly not, but I can't quite believe her "gateau-related trauma in childhood" really led to her panic attacks. The Metro can't have bought her story either as they proceeded to take a series of pictures of her, surrounded by cake!! Were they trying to kill her?! Personally, the only gateau-related trauma I have ever exper

Pancakes - are they really cakes?!
A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, and round, prepared from a starch-based batter that may also contain eggs, milk and butter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan, often with oil or butter (Wikipedia). So if your definition of cake involved eggs and flour, I guess so. In any case, the For Heaven's Cakes kitchen will always make time for these thin little pretenders to the baking throne as the kids go nuts for them. Always savoury first (this year p

St Valentine
One account from the 1400s describes Valentine as a temple priest who was beheaded near Rome by the emperor Claudius II for helping Christian couples wed. There'll be no beheadings, but perhaps some cutting of cake? It's never too soon to place an order for a gift for your loved one. Contact us today! #love

If music be the food of love, give me some with a side order of cake!
Those of you who know me well, know I have a penchant for singing. There is always music in the For Heaven's Cakes kitchen, and often it's musical theatre (much to my Brother, stu of the alternative kitchen's disgust!) i Am currently working with a beautiful bunch of Starlighters on "RENT". We'll be playing the first weekend in June at the winston churchill theatre in Ruislip - do hope you'll come along! #music

Hello Cake Loving Angels!
My new website is up & running and I am super excited about it. Slightly giddy like someone on a crazed cake-based sugar rush, to be precise! Have a look around and tell me what you think!
